Nancy Stroup

Nancy C. (Andrew) Stroup, 84, of Evans City, unexpectedly passed on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2023, at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Nancy was born on Nov. 2, 1938, in Evans City, to Loyal C. Andrew and Mary A. Andrew. She graduated from Evans City High School in 1956.

She worked as a bank teller at both Mellon and Citizens National banks of Evans City. She married Richard L. Stroup, on Dec. 23, 1964, and together they owned Needlepoint Kennels, raising Field Dog Stud Book pedigree English Setters. One of her biggest joys in life was gardening. Nancy adored her time with the Sweet Adelines chorus for many years, traveling to Ireland, Texas, and Washington, D.C., to sing in cathedrals. She cherished her regular lunches with friends from high school, and time with her Sweet Adelines friends.

She is survived by her husband, Richard L. Stroup; children, Sharon (Mark) Summerville, Debra (William) Herb and Russell (Lorraine) Stroup; her grandchildren, Halee Stroup, Chloee Stroup, Adam Herb, Rory Summerville, Anthony Summerville, Anna Summerville, Robert Summerville, Tanner Summerville, Destiny Summerville, Andrew Summerville and Grace Summerville; her great-grandchild, Austin; and her brother, Thomas Andrew.

STROUP — There are no services planned for Nancy C. (Andrew) Stroup, who died Saturday, Sept. 2, 2023. A private family gathering will be held at a later time.

Arrangements have been entrusted to BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER OF CONNOQUENESSING TOWNSHIP, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.

Memorial donations can be made to the Butler County Humane Society.
