Knoch girls’ volleyball team selling pink shirts for mother of KC quarterback
The frightening injury to Karns City quarterback Mason Martin on Sept. 1 has led to an outpouring of support not just from members of the Karns City school community, but from schools across Butler County who are otherwise Karns City’s rivals.
Schools across the county have opened up their hearts and their wallets not just for Mason, but for Mason’s mother, Stacy. In addition to the pain of her son’s injury, Stacy is bearing the pain of breast cancer.
This week, Knoch High School’s girls’ volleyball team has started a T-shirt fundraiser in advance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is observed every October. The team is selling special edition hot pink T-shirts for $20 each, at sizes ranging from small to 3XL.
All proceeds from the sale will be given directly to Mrs. Martin. The team is also accepting monetary donations.
The deadline for ordering shirts is Monday, Sept. 18. However, the team will be raising funds for the Martin family throughout September and October, by selling 50/50 raffle tickets at every Knoch girls’ volleyball home game throughout October.
