Main Street merchants in Butler displayed fall fashions and other items, and lent storefront space for booths that touted various area benefit organizations; tickets to cultural events; and cultural, environmental and educational groups.

The second annual Concert of Arts and Fashions in Butler brought a variety of musical, dramatic and art events to the city, garnering thousands of art appreciators to the area on Sept. 12, 1970.

From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., musical groups played on the Butler County Courthouse steps, which included performances by area high school bands as well as traveling groups.

The event also boasted costumed dancers, antiques, gardening and plant displays and jewelry tables.
