Harold 'Onnie' Reed
Harold V. “Onnie” Reed, 89, of Renfrew passed away at 3:15 p.m. Friday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
He was born March 27, 1926, in Butler to the late Banks C. Reed and Mary E. (Mealy) Reed.
Mr. Reed was a U.S. Army veteran during World War II serving in Korea and Okinawa.
He was an automotive mechanic supervisor for the Department of Transportation retiring in 1988 after 27 years of service.
Mr. Reed was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Prospect. He enjoyed hunting and camping.
Mr. Reed is survived by two sons, Gary Lee Reed and his wife, Janet, of Renfrew and Harold Dennis Reed and his wife, DeDe, of Butler; two granddaughters; two grandsons; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn June (McKinnis) Reed, who he married Dec. 14, 1946, and who passed away May 18, 2014; one brother; and three sisters.
REED — Friends of Harold V. “Onnie” Reed, who died Friday, August 14, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev.
