John Stanley Shramawick

John Stanley Shramawick of Aliquippa passed away Sunday.

He was born April 1, 1921, in Butler, and was the son of the late Ignatius and Mary Bunio Shramawick.

John was a World War II veteran, having served in the 11th Air Force-U.S. Army Air Corps Division. He retired from USAIR after 39 years of service as a ground communications technician.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph Shramawick and Nicholas Shramawick, and two sisters, Mildred Shramowick and Anne Shramowick Matula.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Rollins Shramawick; a son, John Glenn Shram and his wife, Jill Shram, of Little Rock, Ark.; a daughter, Carol Shramawick Ray and her husband, Steve Ray, of Weaverville, N.C.; two grandsons, Matthew Ray and Michael Ray of Weaverville, N.C.; one sister, Mary Shramowick of Lyndora; one sister-in-law, Donna Shramawick of Butler; three nieces, Cindy Matula Savage and Claudia Matula Hoehn of Butler and Joann Shramawick Walker of Goodletsville, Tenn.; and a nephew, Larry Shramawick of Butler.

The family wishes to extend a sincere and special thank you to Dr. James Tatum, Dr. Jarod Stragand and Vitas Hospice for the care they extended to John during the later months of his life.

<B>SHRAMAWICK</B> — Friends of John Stanley Shramawick, who passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2012, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the <B>Darroch Memorial Chapel</B>, 2640 Mill St., Aliquippa, where prayers will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Thursday followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Father Howard Campbell and Father William Kohler will officiate.
