John A. McKitten
John Andrew McKitten, 87, of Butler passed away Saturday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.
He was born Feb. 14, 1924, in Lyndora, the son of the late Andrew and Anna McKitten.
John was a veteran of U.S. Navy, having served in World War II.
He retired from Armco, and he was a member of St. John's Reformed Church, the American Legion Post 778 and the VFW Post 249.
John loved raising and showing horses, animals and spending time with his family.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Kathryn (Walker) McKitten of Butler, who he married Oct. 19, 1951; two sons, Timothy McKitten and his wife, Marcy, of Butler and Paul Scott McKitten and his wife, Deborah, of Richmond, Va.; a sister, Pauline M. Thomas of Butler; and many nieces and nephews.
He also was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.
<B>MCKITTEN </B>— Friends of John Andrew McKitten, who died Saturday, April 16, 2011, will be received at the <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Interment will be in the Butler County Memorial Park.
