Ruby Brown
Ruby Brown, 77, of Prospect died early Wednesday morning at her home after an illness.
She was born Feb. 20, 1933, in Prospect and was the daughter of Howard Merle McKinnis and Helen Luella Barnhart McKinnis.
She was a Presbyterian.
Ruby was a longtime volunteer with the Prospect Volunteer Fire Company. She had belonged to the Moraine Sportsman's Club.
She had been a housewife. She also had worked at the Garden Gate Restaurant as a cook, at Lyndora Auto Sales as a driver and at Butler Custom Catering.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Roy (Kathleen) Schellman of Forestville; a son, Keith L. Moore of Prospect; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and six sisters, Mrs. Raymond (Ruth) Sherman of Butler, Mrs. Harold (June) Reed of Butler, Mrs. Don (Faye) King of Butler, Mrs. Bert (Edna Mae) Knauer of Butler, Mrs. Crawford (Bonnie) Bolten of Butler and Mrs. Robert (Sandie) Henricks of Slippery Rock.
She was preceded by two husbands, Meade LaVerne Moore, who she married Oct. 19, 1957, and who died Jan. 24, 1963; and by Carl Brown, who she married Nov. 6, 1965, and who died July 11, 1993. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, a granddaughter, a sister and a brother.
<B>BROWN</B> — Visitation for Ruby Brown, who died Wednesday. Nov. 17, 2010, will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the <B>Jay Bryan Funeral Home</B>,<B> </B>443 Main St., Prospect. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Tom Spiker of Kittanning officiating. Burial will be in the Crown Hill Cemetery in Prospect.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Prospect Community Library Endowment Fund, 357 Main St., Prospect, PA 16052.
