Donald G. Rebmann, 70, of Butler, passed away Sunday after a short illness at UPMC Montefiore in Pittsburgh.

He was born July 14, 1938, in Pittsburgh, the son of the late Edward Rebmann and the late Eva (Schmidt) Rebmann-Kocan.

He graduated from Baldwin High School in Pittsburgh and from Slippery Rock University with a bachelor's degree in education. He retired from the Butler School District as a math teacher after 29 years.

He also was the executive director for public housing and a sales representative for National Disposal. He was a member of the Elks, Moose, American Legion, French and Belgium clubs.

He was previously awarded the Distinguished Service Award by the Jaycees and was the Jaycees Man of the Year, along with being past president of that group.

He enjoyed golf, gardening, traveling and most of all, spending time with his family and friends. He was a loving husband, wonderful father and a great friend. He was a kind, generous and spiritual man with a big heart who lived life to its fullest. He is loved by many and will be missed by all.

Surviving are his wife, Bonnie (Nulph) Rebmann; a daughter, Carolyn D. Rebmann of Arlington, Va.; two sons, Donald G. Rebmann of Lyndora and Douglas Rebmann and his wife, Julie, of Butler; a stepson, Eric Gaiser, and his wife, Tracie, of Erie; five grandchildren, Nathanael, Benjamin and Christian Rebmann, and Rachel and Ryan Rebmann; a brother, Robert Rebmann and his wife, Betty, of Lake Placid, Fla.; and a sister-in-law, Jean Rebmann of Lake Placid, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Edward Rebmann.

<B>REBMANN</B> — Friends of Donald G. Rebmann who passed away Sunday, May 31, 2009, will be received at the <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
