Barbara J. Schoedel

Barbara J. Schoedel, 64, of Evans City passed away Sunday evening at Butler Memorial Hospital.

She was born March 11, 1944, in Butler, and was the daughter of Jennings and Betty Lou McCandless Cratty.

She was a homemaker.

She belonged to the Mount Chestnut Presbyterian Church. She also was a member of the Mount Nebo Extension Club, and she was very active in the Tri-State Country Music Association, where she was the secretary.

She loved to knit, crochet and make crafts with all her grandchildren. She enjoyed camping and going to NASCAR races with her husband.

She is survived by her husband, Michael J. Schoedel, whom she married Oct. 11, 1997; her children, Robert Ward of Butler, William Ward of Saxonburg, Scott Ward of Butler, Tanya (Darrell) Fassinger of Harmony and Betty (Jim) Frankenstein of Zelienople; her stepchildren, Michael (Yvette) Schoedel Jr. of Chicora, Paul (Karen) Schoedel of North Dakota, Cheryl (Anthony) Bayti of Munhall and Duane (Crystal) Schoedel of Smithton; 27 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. She also is survived by two brothers, Ken (Colleen) Cratty of Lyndora and Dean (Renee) Cratty of Butler; and a number of nieces and nephews.

<B>SCHOEDEL</B> — Friends of Barbara J. Schoedel, who died Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Edward L. Raisley Funeral Home</B>, 387 Main St., Prospect. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jeffrey Curtis, her church pastor, officiating.
