Alex Luchkiw, 86, of Grove City died at 4:15 p.m. Aug. 15 at Grove Manor.

He was born Sept. 11, 1921, in Lyndora, the son of Wasyl Luchkiw and Helen Simpchek Luchkiw.

He worked construction and also worked for Litzenberg Drilling for years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having been a survivor of Pearl Harbor and the Korean War.

Surviving are a brother, Robert Luchkiw of Meridian, and a sister, Catherine Bifareti of Virginia.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and seven brothers.
