William T. Parr

William T. Parr, 86, of Highland Center, Brackenridge, formerly of Alameda Road, Butler, died at 10:37 a.m. Thursday at his home.

Born July 14, 1920, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of William T. and Lulu B. Crabtree Parr Sr.

He married Lillian E. Parr, who died Aug. 6, 1987. His second wife, Velma I. Parr, died on Dec. 24, 1997.

He was an engineer at the United Telephone Co. in Butler. He was a member of St. John's Reformed Church.

During World War II, he served in the Navy as an aviation machinist mate, second class. He was a member of the American Legion Post 778 in Lyndora.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. John (Karen) Marchyshyn Sr. of Butler; a grandson, John L. and his wife, Jackie, Marchyshyn of Butler; a granddaughter, Jodi and her husband, Christian, Marchyshyn Madison of Butler; two great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Julia Marchyshyn, and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

<B>PARR</B> — Friends of William T. Parr, who died Thursday, Aug. 17, 2006, will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the T<B>hompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St.Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Peterson of St. John's Reformed Church officiating.Burial will be in Butler County Memorial Park.Officers and members of the American Legion and VFW will perform military honors at the cemetery.Memorials may be made to Bethany Hospice or to Highland Center Genesis.
