Daniel L. Braun, 63, of Evans City, formerly of Mount Chestnut, died at 1:22 p.m. Friday at his daughter's home.

Born Jan. 22, 1942, in Butler, he was the son of the late John Wesley and Maude Ann Wilson Braun.

He was a Navy veteran and retired from the melt shop at Armco-Butler Works.

Mr. Braun was a member of American Legion Post 117, the National Rifle Association, the Western Pennsylvania 30 Caliber League, the Butler Hunting & Fishing Club and the Slovak Club in Lyndora.

He loved competitive shooting, guns, hunting, camping, quad and motorcycle riding and watching old time movies.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Wesley (Heidi) Strickland of Mulberry, Fla., Mrs. Kevin (Danette) Klingensmith, with whom he made his home in Evans City, and Mary Ann Braun of New Sewickley; a son, Kurt Braun of Lakeland, Fla.; two ex-wives, Treda McKissick Braun of Bridgewater and Cindy Sloan Herrick of Florida; and 10 grandchildren. A brother, Cris A. Braun of Leander, Texas, also survives.

An infant daughter and a brother preceded him in death.

BRAUN — Friends of Daniel L. Braun, who died Friday, Nov. 18, 2005, will be received from 3 to 4 p.m. Wednesday at theYOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W.
