Knoch volleyball rolls

Knoch’s volleyball team made quick work of visiting Penn Hills on Monday, sweeping the Indians by scores of 25-6, 25-4, and 25-2.

Karlee Buterbaugh had 11 kills and Sierra Mock added six kills in the victory.

Brynne Smith served for 29 points and 13 aces for the Knights (6-1, 3-0) and teammate CeCe Kosecki served for nine points.

Cranberry 3, A-C Valley 0 — The Falcons (2-4) lost by scores of 25-23, 25-22, 25-19. Maddy Dehart had five kills and three blocks for A-C Valley while Bella Ielease had three klills and nine digs, Lexi Altman 12 assists.

A-C Valley plays at Keystone on Thursday.

Punxsutawney 3, Karns City 0 — The Chucks took this match by scores of 25-17, 25-16 and 25-17.

Kendall Ritzert contributed 10 assists and Nicole Taylor eight digs for the Gremlins.

Ava Fox had six kills and seven digs, Naomi Venesky five kills and Cayley Craig four kills.

Slippery Rock 3, Grove City 1 — Avalee Demidovich dropped 13 kills and Anora Robare dished out 31 assists for the Rockets.

Lexi Plesakov had 14 digs for Slippery Rock, which defeated the rival Eagles by scores of 25-15, 25-20, 25-27 and 25-20.

Girls Soccer

Brooke Arblaster scored three goals while Emily Plyer and Maya Turner both had two goals in Slippery Rock’s 11-0 shutout of Sharon.

Also scoring in the win were Shannon Stanley, Aiva Reich, Kendall Krenn and Anna Combs.

Brielle Jordan contributed two assists while Riley Belluso had one. Libby Campbell earned the shutout.

Mars 1, Kiski Area — Rosie Pellegrino scored for the Planets.

Freeport 2, Knoch 2 — Scoring for the Yellowjackets (6-0-1, 4-0-1) were Samantha Liput and Peyton Los.

Stats for Knoch (3-3-2, 2-1-1) were not reported.

Boys Golf

Aaron Voltz, Mason Phillips and Jeremy Scheidt all shot 40 in Knoch’s 205-261 win over St. Joseph.

The Knights (12-5, 11-3) will take part in the Section 1-2A individual qualifier Tuesday at Buffalo Golf Course.

Freeport 211, Burrell 227 — At River Forest Country Club, the Yellowjackets clinched a section title with a 14-0 record for the second straight year.

Cam Zigo led Freeport with a 41.

Macie McLister came in with a 41 in Butler’s 181-218 victory over Shaler.

The match was the final team competition for the Golden Tornado (8-5, 6-4).

KSAC Mega Match — Moniteau won at Clarion Oaks with a team score of 139. A-C Valley was second with 189, followed by Cranberry at 192.
