Alvin G. Gray

Alvin G. Gray, 74, of Butler passed away Sunday after a brave battle with cancer.

Born July 25, 1941, in Tidal, he was the son of George and Pearl (Craig) Gray.

Alvin was a 1959 graduate of Redbank Valley High School. He was a member of the Faith United Presbyterian Church in Butler. He had been a deacon at his church and a volunteer at Butler Food Bank.

He was a retired engineer with West Penn Power.

Alvin was a devoted family man who loved hunting and fishing and dogs and spending time with his family.

Surviving are his daughter, Stephany J. (Lee) Fosnaught of Butler; and three grandchildren, Jeremy (Julie) Fosnaught, Ashley Fosnaught and her significant other, Bret Conaway, and Britney (Matt) Freeland, all of Butler. Also surviving is Alvin's significant other, Connie Sowinski of Pittsburgh.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 43 years, Gale (Dunagan) Gray, who died Nov. 18, 2007.

GRAY — Friends of Alvin G. Gray, who died Sunday, Oct. 4, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, followed by a service at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Don Aull, his pastor, officiating.Interment will be Wednesday at the Greenlawn Burial Estates.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Alvin to the Faith United Presbyterian Church, 1329 N.
