Mary Agnes Wright, 96, of Butler passed away at 5:05 p.m. Thursday at Butler VNA Inpatient Hospice.

She was born Feb. 4, 1916, in Butler, the daughter of the late Louis C. and Barbara (Geibel) Kemper.

Mary was a member of St. Fidelis Catholic Church. She had many friends in Hudson, Fla., where she had spent 27 winters. She enjoyed traveling, having been to all states except Hawaii. She also enjoyed gardening, flowers and bird watching.

Surviving are her daughter, Patricia (Richard) Gilliland of Butler; two sons, Robert W. (Linda) Wright of Butler and David L. (Barb) Wright of Renfrew; eight grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne N. Wright; who she married on Sept. 18, 1940, and who died Feb. 1, 2003; an infant sister; one sister; and three brothers.
