Hall of Fame NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. to make appearance at Lernerville Speedway
NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr. will make a pit stop at Lernerville Speedway on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at an event that could bring record attendance to the Sarver racetrack.
The renowned race car driver will attend the Commonwealth Clash, a High Limit Sprint Car Series event, which is slated to be the highest paying sprint car event in Lernerville Speedway’s history, with the winner set to take home $50,000.
The race will be held in conjunction with Kyle Larson, Brad Sweet and the High Limit Sprint Car Series.
“I’ve not been to too many dirt races in my time, and so we’re going to have some fun, eat some track food, meet some fans, maybe sign some autographs or anything else Kyle (Larson) wants me to do,” Earnhardt said on his podcast titled “Road Trip Recap From Martinsville.”
Earnhardt said he offered to attend a High Limit Sprint Car Series event after Larson raced at a CARS Tour at Caraway Speedway in Sophia, N.C.
“For doing that, I said I’ll go to a High Limit Event ... and we agreed to go to Lernerville,” Earnhardt said.
Lernerville Speedway is at 313 N. Pike Road. Pit gates will open at 2 p.m., with the grandstand opening at 4 p.m. Hot laps followed by Capitol Renegade Qualifying will commence at 6:15 p.m. and opening ceremonies are scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
The High Limit Sprint Car A-Main event race is scheduled to start at 9 p.m.
