Butler man accused of soliciting agents posing as Elk County teen online
A Butler man is accused of sending and requesting explicit photos from law enforcement agents in Elk County posing online as a 15-year-old girl in Elk County.
Evan A. Mennor, 27, was charged by Ridgway Borough police in Elk County with felony and misdemeanor criminal solicitation and misdemeanor criminal attempt after a group known as 814Predhunters brought information to police in June.
Police said representatives of the 814Predhunters group posed online as a 15-year-old girl from Elk County, and had been in contact with Mennor.
During the conversations, Mennor requested inappropriate photos from the decoy and sent inappropriate photos as well, police said.
In addition, police said Mennor made comments toward the decoy that were sexual in nature.
Mennor made plans to meet with the decoy in Ridgway Borough on June 17. He was encountered by police and was interviewed about the allegations.
Mennor was arraigned in Elk County on Monday, Sept. 25, and placed under an unsecured of $25,000. His preliminary hearing is scheduled Oct. 11.
