The following defendants were sentenced Thursday in Butler County Common Pleas Court by Judge Timothy McCune.
Zachari Lamar Roth, 39, of Cranberry Township, was sentenced to serve 30 to 60 months in state prison after pleading guilty to a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver filed by state police following a Dec. 19, 2022, incident in Butler. The district attorney’s office closed interest in a separate case in which Butler City police charged Roth with unauthorized use a motor vehicle and simple assault following a March 11, 2022, incident.
Dakota Joseph Hinchberger, 21, of Pittsburgh, was sentenced to serve 18 to 36 months in state prison after pleading guilty to a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver filed by state police following a July 26, 2022, incident in Prospect.
Richard James Russell, 26, of Butler, was sentenced to serve concurrent state prison sentences totaling 24 to 48 months after pleading guilty to charges in three cases. He was sentenced to 24 to 48 months after pleading guilty to a felony contraband charge filed by county detectives following a Jan. 30 incident in Butler, and a concurrent 18 to 48 month sentence after pleading guilty to felony aggravated assault and criminal trespass charges filed by Butler City police following an Aug. 18, 2022, incident; and he was fined $500 after pleading guilty to a possession of drug paraphernalia charge filed by city police following a Jan. 30 incident.
Bradford Allen Nickel, 42, of West Mifflin, Allegheny County, was sentenced to serve three to 12 months in prison and pay $46.93 in restitution after pleading guilty to retail theft and harassment charges filed by Butler Township police following a May 8 incident.
Victor Harris-Berry, 34, of Butler, was sentenced to serve 90 days to six months in prison, but was immediately paroled to serve 90 days of house arrest, and complete 20 hours of community service and a driver safety course after pleading guilty to a charge of accidents involving damage filed by Middlesex Township police following a Nov. 3 incident.
Vahan Nishan Hovsepian, 67, of Butler, was sentenced to 12 months of probation after pleading guilty to a retail theft charge filed by Butler Township police following an Oct. 28, 2022, incident.
Shawn Negley, 40, of Tarentum, was sentenced to serve 12 months of probation after pleading guilty to theft and false report charges filed by Cranberry Township police following a June 9, 2021, incident.
Clayton Jay Shemela, 33, of Princeton, N.J., was sentenced to serve 72 months of probation, including 18 months of house arrest; pay a $2,500 fine; and complete 40 hours of community service and litter pickup after pleading guilty to driving under the influence of a controlled substance, his third DUI conviction, filed by state police following a June 30, 2022, incident in Muddy Creek Township.
Kaitlyn Marie Sullivan, 22, of Butler, was sentenced to serve 60 months of probation, including 105 days of house arrest; pay a $1,500 fine; and $1,215 in restitution and complete 40 hours of community service and litter pickup after pleading guilty to her second DUI offense and an accidents involving damage charge filed by Butler City police following an April 24 incident.
Robert Karl Conaway, 40, of Venango, was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in prison followed by 12 months of probation and pay fines totaling $1,200 after pleading guilty to a driving under the influence of a controlled substance charge filed by state police following a May 7, 2021, incident in Muddy Creek Township.
Robert Dean Shultz Jr., 34, of Butler, was sentenced to serve 18 months of probation, including 60 days of house arrest, after pleading guilty to two separate charges of possession of drug paraphernalia filed by Butler City police following incidents on Feb. 1 and March 13.
Amber Leigh Stahl, 57, of Columbus, Ohio, was sentenced to serve 60 months of probation, including 107 days of house arrest; pay a $1,500 fine; and complete 40 hours of community service and litter pickup after pleading guilty to driving under the influence of a controlled substance, her second DUI conviction, that was filed by state police following a Jan. 23, 2022, incident in Butler.
Maxwell Lewandowski, 30, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., was sentenced to serve 84 months of probation, including 12 months of house arrest; pay a $2,500 fine; and complete 40 hours of community service and litter pickup after pleading guilty to his third DUI offense filed by Cranberry Township police following a Jan. 6 incident.
Kenneth E. Anderson Jr., 53, of Butler, was sentenced to six months of probation and pay the state $1,650 in restitution after pleading guilty to a charge of fraudulently obtaining food stamps or assistance filed by the state Inspector General’s office following a May 1, 2019, incident in Butler.
Leslie Gunn Cook, 68, of Butler, was sentenced to 24 months of probation after pleading guilty to a charge of fraudulently obtaining food stamps or assistance filed by the state Inspector General’s office following a Jan. 1, 2020, incident in Butler.
Aaron John Baysek, 49, of Butler, was sentenced to serve 6 to 23 months in prison, but was immediately paroled to inpatient treatment after pleading guilty to a simple assault charge filed by Butler City police following a March 26 incident.
Eugene Ray Somogy, 47, of Butler, was sentenced to serve 12 months of probation, including 14 days of house arrest; pay a $1,000 fine; and complete 25 hours of community service and litter pickup after pleading guilty to DUI and recklessly endangering another person charges filed by state police following a Nov. 25, 2021, incident in Clearfield Township and a disorderly conduct charge filed by Butler City police following a Dec. 29, 2022, incident.
Chad William Kolarik, 25, of Pittsburgh, was sentenced to serve six months of probation and pay $562 in restitution to the Army National Guard recruiting office after pleading guilty to a theft charge filed by state police following an Oct. 10, 2021, incident in Connoquenessing Township.
Michael Glenn Whitling, 34, of Butler, was sentenced to serve 60 months of probation, including 105 days of house arrest; pay a $1,500 fine; and complete 40 hours of community service and litter pickup after pleading guilty to his second DUI offense filed by state police following a July 17, 2022, incident in Center Township.
Timothy J. Scott, 43, of West Sunbury, was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in prison, pay $2,000 in fines, and complete 40 hours of community service and litter pickup after pleading guilty to a DUI and driving with a suspended license charges filed by state police following a Nov. 26, 2022, incident in Summit Township.
Joseph F. Reich, 47, of Wexford, was sentenced to serve 60 months of probation, including 105 days of house arrest; pay a $1,500 fine; and complete 40 hours of community service and litter pickup after pleading guilty to his second DUI offense filed by Butler Township police following an April 2, 2022, incident.
Tiffany Elizabeth Elliott, 43, of East McKeesport, Allegheny County, was sentenced to serve six months of probation, pay a $300 fine and complete 20 hours of community service and litter pickup after pleading guilty to a DUI charge filed by state police following a July 15, 2020, incident in Butler.
Michael Lee Miller, 41, of Bruin, was sentenced to serve 18 months of probation, including 14 days of house arrest; pay $2,000 in fines; and complete 40 hours of community service and litter pickup after pleading guilty to driving under the influence of a controlled substance, firearms not to be carried without a license and driving with a suspended license charges filed by state police following a Jan. 20, 2022, incident in Parker Township.
