Leroy D. “Boob” Measel
Leroy D. “Boob” Measel, 87, of New Sewickley Township passed away on Wednesday.
Born Dec. 24, 1930, in Harmony, he was the son of the late Harry and Lida Measel.
Leroy was a 1949 graduate of Zelienople High School.
He proudly served our country from 1953 until 1955 in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He worked for Halstead Industries, B & W, and retired from Hufnagel & Major Sales and Service.
Leroy was a faithful member of Concord United Methodist Church, where he served as an usher for 40 years.
As an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting. Above all, he loved people and enjoyed teasing them for fun. He will be dearly missed.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 66 years, Estelle “Toots” Brown Measel, whom he married on May 24, 1952; his son, Michael Leroy Measel; his sister, Doris Dyer; his sisters-in-law, Mary Measel, Marlene Measel, Naomi Brown Elsbury and Beulah Brown; and his brothers-in-law, Herb Brown and his wife, Jean, Vern Brown and his wife, Shirley, and Pete Brown and his wife, Georgie.
MEASEL — Friends of Leroy D. “Boob” Measel, who died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2018, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.Additional visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the funeral ceremony at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Concord United Methodist Church, 285 Concord Church Road, Beaver Falls.He will be laid to rest at Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
