Cyclist injured in Friday evening crash on North Main Street
A man was taken by medical helicopter to a Pittsburgh hospital Friday evening, Oct. 6, after a crash between a motorbike and a vehicle in the intersection of North Main and East Brady streets in Butler, officials said.
The motorcyclist drove through the intersection and hit the side of the car as its driver was making a left turn, according to the Butler City police department.
The crash was reported just before 8 p.m.
The two drivers were the only ones involved in the crash, police said.
Firefighter Jeff Scott said the motorbike driver was the only one injured.
Before the ambulance arrived, the driver of the bike was seen on the road, seemingly unable to lift himself. A few people rushed to his side as traffic came to a halt.
The cyclist was taken by ambulance to a waiting helicopter in the Save A Lot parking lot at Pullman Square.
Butler Bureau of Fire, Butler City police and Butler Ambulance Service responded.
