Valjean 'Ruth' R. Cogley Dunlap
Valjean “Ruth” R. Cogley Dunlap, 89, of Bruin died Sunday at the Parker Personnel Care Home following a lengthy illness.
Born Oct. 31, 1921, in Widnoon, Armstrong County, she was the daughter of John Gray Sr. and Margaret C. Hawk Gray.
Mrs. Dunlap was first married on June 16, 1941, to John C. Cogley, who preceded her in death in February 1975. She then married Victor L. Dunlap, who preceded her in death in July 1996.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Dunlap was a member of the Bruin Methodist Church.
Her main interests were her children and her grandchildren.
Surviving are her three daughters, Linda L. Milliren and her husband, Bob, of Bruin, Sally S. Henry and her husband, Rick, of Woodlands, Texas, and Sheri L. Smith and her husband, Kevin, of Bruin; one son, Larry L. Cogley and his wife, Cil, of Bruin; two stepdaughters, Ada Feldmiller and her husband, Ron, and Vivian Neal; nine grandchildren, Robbie Milliren, Steven Milliren, Larry Cogley Jr., Christopher Cogley, Matt Henry, Alicia Larsen, Brianna Yoder, Brad Smith, and Ryan Smith; and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one sister, Verda Texter and her husband, Harry, of Parker; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by one son, Gary R. Cogley, who died Jan. 11, 1975; one brother, John Gray Jr. and his wife, Doris; and a stepdaughter, Elaine Taft.
DUNLAP — The family of Valjean “Ruth” R. Cogley Dunlap, who died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2010, will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Richard D. Hillis Funeral Home </B>in Petrolia. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Wade Berkey, pastor of the Bruin Methodist Church, officiating.
