William M. Overheim
William M. "Bill" Overheim, 86, of Foxburg passed away at 4 a.m. Friday at Clarion Hospital following an illness.
Born on Nov. 6, 1923, in Parkers Landing, he was the son of the late Charles D. and Frances M. Lorenz Overheim.
Bill was a 1941 graduate of the former Parker High School and the Butler Business College.
He began a 38-year career in the glass manufacturing industry with the former Wightman Bottle and Glass, later the Knox Glass Corp., at Parker and retiring from the Glass Containers Corp. at Marienville in 1984. Bill held positions in accounting, administration, and he served as plant manager at both the Parker and Marienville operations.
A veteran of World War II, he served with the U.S. Marines from 1943 to 1945. He served in the Pacific Theater of Operations, attaining the rank of technical sergeant.
He was a member of the VFW at Parker and the American Legion of Foxburg.
He was a lifelong member of the former St. Mary's Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church of Parker.
He is survived by his wife, Geneieve (Genny) Bowser Henry Overheim; one daughter, Lisa Overheim Craig and her husband, Bruce, of Butler; two sons and their wives, Mark (Fay) Overheim of St. Petersburg and Mitchell (Linda) Overheim of Foxburg; and four grandchildren, Kurt, Trista, and Emily Overheim and April (Peter) Shaffer.
Also surviving are four stepchildren and their spouses, Linda (Tom) Weis of DuBois, Dan (Paula) Henry of Danielson, Conn., Brenda (Stan) McGeary of Wilmington, N.C., and Donna (Jim) Hyman of Norwich, Conn.; eight step-grandchildren, Matthew and Luke Weis, Aaron and Adam Henry, Nikki and Tessa McGeary, and Dylan and Phillip Hyman; one brother, Richard "Dick" Overheim of Parker; one sister-in-law, Shirley Overheim of Harrisville, and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Florence E. Galena Overheim, who passed away April 7, 1990; and siblings, Fritzi Overheim, Charles "Chuck" and Jim Overheim.
<B>OVERHEIM </B>— Friends of William M. "Bill" Overheim may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at <B>H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home</B>, 201 S. Wayne Ave., Parker. Blessing services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with Monsignor Jan C. Olowin of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Emlenton presiding.
