Police reports
The following items were collected from various police departments and district courts.
Oct. 3 — Jeffrey Ford, 30, of Evans City, was arrested after he allegedly fired a rifle toward a home on Robin Road in Connoquenessing Township at 1:20 a.m. At his preliminary hearing on Oct. 17, Ford waived to court misdemeanor charges of recklessly endangering another person and two counts of disorderly conduct. A simple assault charge was withdrawn.
Oct. 13 — Andrew Sykes, 32, of Butler, was charged with strangulation, simple assault and harassment after police responded to Butler Memorial Hospital for a report of an assault. The alleged incident took place on Holyoke Road in Center Township and involved a 27-year-old female victim, police said.
Sept. 12 — Richard Quinn, 57, of Renfrew, was charged with a felony count of criminal mischief after he allegedly went to a home on Unionville Road in Franklin Township and smashed a motorcycle owned by a West Sunbury man.
June 11 — Brandyn Gutauskas, 30, of Slippery Rock, was charged Oct. 19 with theft from a motor vehicle and summary offenses for allegedly taking a winning $500 lottery ticket from inside of a vehicle and cashing it in June. Police also cited him for operating an uninspected motorcycle with the license plate from a different motorcycle. His driver’s license was suspended, he didn’t have a motorcycle license and he wasn’t wearing a helmet or eye protection, police added.
Oct. 15 — Celeste Main, 44, of Butler, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct after police said she was found sleeping in a parking lot along Grove City Road in Slippery Rock Township at 5:38 a.m.
Oct. 19 — Brittany Marie Smith, 34, of Butler, was charged with felony counts of theft by failing to make required disposition of funds and receiving stolen property for allegedly failing to deposit $11,061 from Oct. 8, 2022 to Aug. 12, 2023 while she was working as manager of Pita My Shawarma.
Oct. 17 — Michael Petrie, 39, of Colorado, was charged with felony charges of theft of a motor vehicle and receiving stolen property, misdemeanor charges of theft of a dealer license plate, receiving stolen property and unauthorized use of a vehicle and summary offenses after police responded to a report of the theft of a 2021 Kia Sportage from Ellis Automotive.
July 19 — Donna Neely, 64 of Butler, was charged with a felony count of retail theft and a misdemeanor charge of theft by deception for fraudulently returning $28.49 in merchandise at Target and stealing $179.98 in other merchandise.
