June E. Larimore

June Elizabeth Larimore, 92, formerly of Aspen Road, Karns City, died at 10:50 p.m. Wednesday at the Chicora Medical Center, where she was a resident for six years.

Born in Irwin Township, Venango County, May 17, 1913, she was a daughter of Joseph Burdell Marshall and Julia Susan Miller Marshall.

She was a member of the North Butler Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Larimore had attended elementary school at the Walters School in Venango County for seven years and graduated from the Fairview Township-Karns City High School in 1930. She retired as a nursing assistant at the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center in 1973 after 25 years.

She enjoyed traveling throughout North America, crossword games and the cryptoquotes from the newspaper.

Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Dixie L. and James H. Moser of Chicora, Shirley Jean and Edward H. Derendorf of Clifton, Va., and Glenda Kay and Robert E. Miller of Chicora; a daughter-in-law, Loretta Larimore of Rivesville, W.Va.; and a special friend, Betty Watts and her husband, Bruce, of Suffolk, Va. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Her husband, Lee Grant "Red" Larimore, whom she married Oct. 6, 1930, in Cumberland, Md., died May 28, 1981. She also was preceded in death by three sons, David M. Larimore, who died Jan. 29, 1999; Lewis Burdell Larimore, who died Feb. 11, 1931, and William J. Larimore, who died Sept. 7, 1935; two great-grandsons, Jeremy Lee Miller, who died Jan. 1, 1996; and Corey James Stephenson, who died Feb. 25, 1992; and two brothers, William Joseph Marshall, who died in 1983, and Ellsworth "Ted" Marshall, who died in July 2001.

LARIMORE — Friends of June Elizabeth Larimore, who died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2005, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the RICHARD D. HILLIS FUNERAL HOME, 102 Argyle St., Petrolia. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Mary Sickels, her church pastor, and the Rev. Richard Rowe, pastor of the Fairview United Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will follow at the Bear Creek Cemetery, Petrolia.
