Gilliland Vanasdale Sinatra Istik Law Office
On Feb. 8, 2002, the Gilliland Vanasdale Sinatra Istik Law Office was officially launched. At that time, it was just Jennifer Gilliland working from her townhome in Adams Township.
She and Gary T. Vanasdale literally started the firm with $500.
They married on May 11, 2002, and the firm moved to its first commercial location in Seven Fields.
With hard work and dedication, the firm grew, and Gary T. Vanasdale went from behind-the-scenes CFO to full-time attorney.
“We purchased land on Route 228 in pursuit of building a law practice in my hometown of Butler County,” Jen Gilliand Vanasdale said. “Downtown Butler was saturated with lawyers so we took a chance there. Cranberry Township was not developed at that time, and it was a challenge. We developed a commercial building where we continue to work side by side with some of the best companies in the region.”
Following a trial together where Gilliand Vanasdale and Jill D. Sinatra were on opposite sides, yet had mutual respect, attorney Sinatra joined the law office in 2015. At the end of 2018, in recognition of her superior legal services and trial skills, Sinatra became a partner and the firm’s name was changed to Gilliland Vanasdale Sinatra Law Office, LLC.
At the same time, Jen and Gary were also developing their Butler Downtown office. Jen grew up a mile from downtown Butler and the firm always planned to have a law office in the city across from the courthouse.
Gary spent much time chipping away horsehair plaster to discover beautiful bricks while blending the 100-year history of building with the progress of today in architecture, accessibility, and technology.
With the new location, Deanna Lyn Istik was hired in 2022, bringing over 12 years of legal experience in civil, personal injury, criminal and family law. Thanks to Deanna's winning performances inside and outside the courtroom, she earned partnership.
The firm is now known as Gilliland Vanasdale Sinatra Istik Law Office, LLC.
Jen and Gary have earned the highest AV Preeminent Rating from Martindale Hubbell. Sinatra and Istik have been named Super Lawyers.
They support Jen becoming Butler County’s next district attorney as the law office continues to carry on the firm's more than 20-year tradition of standing up for its valued clients.
