Cynthia Marshall, counselor

Cynthia L. Marshall

Is there a troubling issue that bothers you? Does it recur often in your mind and in conversations? Is it affecting sleep, relationships, or emotional balance?

No problem is too small or too big to talk it over with a counselor. Cynthia L. Marshall, who holds a doctoral degree from the University of Pittsburgh, is a counselor who is both certified in standard counseling techniques and 21st century post-traumatic stress disorder therapy.

Marshall sees her clients in her office located at Holly Pointe, 220 S. Main St., Suite 101. She works with clients on strategies to overcome behavioral and mental obstacles and personal challenges.

According to 20/20: A Vision for the Future of Counseling: the counseling delegates agreed upon a unified definition. Professional counseling is a relationship that empowers diverse individuals, families and groups to accomplish mental health, wellness, education and career goals.

Marshall perceives her private practice counseling as a collaborative effort between the counselor and client. She helps her clients identify goals and potential solutions to problems that cause emotional turmoil.

Marshall seeks to improve clients’ communication and coping skills, strengthen self-esteem and promote behavior change for optimal mental health.

In the 21st century, individual counseling has become important to people as we find ourselves distant from our families and have lost our spiritual and personal communities. Life’s ups and downs take their toll on our ability to manage our anger, our sadness, our grief and other behavioral issues. Even those who have perceived that seeking counseling is a sign of weakness find that therapy helps discover answers and change negative behaviors.

Counseling is for anyone who finds their everyday coping devices do not work anymore. Contact Marshall at drmarshallcares@gmail.com or 724-679-7502.

Marshall’s methodology includes aiding the mind, body and spirit so her clients feel more at ease within their world and in their sphere of influence. Marshall helps her clients feel capable of managing stress and anger and learn to keep their behavior and emotions in equilibrium in our changing world.

Individual counseling is an opportunity to receive personal support and experience growth during challenging times in life. Individual counseling can help one deal with any personal topics in life such as anger, depression, anxiety, marriage, spirituality, relationship challenges, parenting problems, school difficulties and career changes.
