Police reports
The following items have been collected from various police departments and district courts.
Oct. 30 — Sebastian M. Astudillo, 23, of New Castle, was charged with driving under the influence, possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and three summary violations after he was pulled over for speeding on Route 422 in Summit Township at 12:11 a.m. During a consented search of the vehicle, police said they found a small amount of marijuana, a glass smoking pipe, a metal grinder with suspected marijuana inside, and a plastic bag containing small plastic bags.
Oct. 28 — Raymond D. Claypool, 75, of Butler, was flown to Allegheny General Hospital with injuries he sustained in a two-vehicle crash at Sunset Drive and North Benbrook Road in Center Township at 4:17 p.m. Police said he did not stop at a stop sign at the intersection and his car was struck by a pickup truck driven by Anthony Leitem, 20, of East Brady, who was not injured.
Oct. 25 — Catherine Mari McFadden, 20, of Carnegie was charged with driving under the influence and three summary offenses after she was pulled over for allegedly swerving out of the lane she was driving in on North Main Street Extension in Center Township at 3 a.m.
Oct. 24 — Jacob Ryan Ruth, 24, of Harmony was charged with theft by deception after he allegedly bought four boxes of Legos from Playthings Etc. in Clay Township and returned them without the Lego figurines inside.
Oct. 23 — Ashlee Renee Shoop, 35, of Grove City was charged with driving under the influence and four summary traffic violations after she was pulled over on Route 8 in Clay Township for allegedly crossing the white fog line at 12:37 a.m.
Oct. 19 — Police are investigating the theft of $1,800 from Daniel Melaney, 62, of Portersville through a gift card scam.
Sept. 18 — Barbara Voorhees of Slippery Rock reported that a fraudulent unemployment compensation claim had been filed in her name.
Oct. 20 — Jordyn A. Allen, 27, of West Middlesex, was charged with two counts of misdemeanor DUI after police stopped her Oct. 5 on Main Street. Police said a field sobriety test showed she was impaired and a later blood test showed her blood alcohol content at 0.179%. In Pennsylvania, the legal limit is 0.08%.
