PennDOT welcomes back Build a Better Mousetrap competition
PennDOT and The Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors announced the return of the Build a Better Mousetrap competition earlier this week.
Submissions from Pennsylvania municipalities are open through March 1.
The competition seeks municipalities with employee-designed solutions, built or adapted, that innovated maintenance, equipment or processes to better serve Pennsylvania travelers.
Submissions can be the development or modification of tools and equipment and processes that increase safety, reduce costs, improve the efficiency or quality of transportation. Technological innovations and unique use of new tools — such as drones, apps, computers, smartphones and tablets — are also encouraged.
Submission forms can be found at gis.penndot.gov/ltap/Public/SystemNews_GenInfo.aspx.
Any questions about the competition can be directed to Karen Atkinson at 717-763-0930, ext. 156, or by email at katkinson@psats.org.
