Seneca Valley named as Lighthouse System by superintendents’ association

The Seneca Valley School District announced Tuesday, Nov. 7, it has been named one of four Lighthouse Systems for fall 2023 by AASA, the School Superintendents Association, as part of its Learning 2025 Network program.

The Learning 2025 Network consists of 150 school districts that are working to improve public education for future generations. The Lighthouse districts serve as models of positive change in public education.

“We are honored to be chosen as an AASA Learning 2025 Lighthouse System, as it is a prestigious recognition of our commitment to innovative, forward-thinking and effective approaches to education,” said Tracy Vitale, Seneca Valley School District superintendent.

The other three Lighthouse Systems are the Beaver Area School District in Beaver County, Pa.; Hermiston School District in Hermiston, Ore.; and Montrose County School District in Montrose, Colo.

All four districts will be honored during AASA’s luncheon on Feb. 14 in San Diego.
