Annie Mydock

Mydock

Annie Mildred Mydock, 103, of Hobe Sound, Fla., formerly of Butler, died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2023, at her residence in Florida surrounded by her children.

Born on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 27, 1919, in Bartow, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Miner J. and Zernia (Moyer) Rexrode. Her family moved to Ohio when she was a year old, and she attended school there into 11th grade, at which time she was permitted to quit school to care for her ailing mother.

At the age of 15 she met her future husband, William Mydock, and at the age of 20, they were married on Feb. 3, 1940. In August 1953, she and William moved to Butler, where William pastored a church. She was a pastor's wife for 26 years. She and William were married for 52 years, until William's passing on March 17, 1992.

In 2015, at the age of 95, she decided to give up her home in Butler (where she had lived for 62 years) and move to Florida with one of her sons. She remained very active until the last couple years, however she still loved to go for car rides.

She is survived by her five children, David, Michael (Becky) and Joseph (Terry), all of Hobe Sound, Fla., Ruth (Roger) Druschel of Lyndora, and Mary Oliphant, also of Hobe Sound; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Her funeral was held at the Hobe Sound Bible Church on Oct. 31, 2023, and burial was in the Forest Hills Cemetery in Palm City, Fla., alongside her husband William.
