Thomas R. “Tom” Olinger, 80, of Zelienople, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2023.

Born June 2, 1943, in Shenango Township, Pa., he was the son of the late Robert Harold Olinger and Hazel Irene Olinger.

Tom was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during the Bay of Pigs Invasion. He was a self-employed electrician. He was also a beloved school bus driver for several years. He was a longtime member of the Zelienople Lions Club. Tom will be remembered as a kind and gentle man who will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

Tom leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 54 years, Nancy Ann Simpson Olinger; his sisters, Margaret Kimpel and Judith Ann Clift; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his siblings, Robert Harold Olinger, James Foreman Olinger, Ernest Sherman Olinger, John Elliot Olinger, Blaine George Olinger and Nancy Jane Wallace.

OLINGER — Friends of Thomas R. “Tom” Olinger, who died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2023, will be received from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. Saturday at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, with the Rev. Dr. Jon Nelson officiating.

Tom will be laid to rest at Pinewood Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tom’s memory to Butler County Humane Society, 1015 Evans City Road, Renfrew, PA 16053.
