Esther King
Esther Shakley King, 85, of Erie, formerly of Chicora, died Monday morning at her home in Erie.
Born in Petrolia, July 27, 1921, she was the daughter of Clifford and Laura Watterson Shakley.
She had been a receptionist at the Chicora Medical center for 15 years until her retirement.
Mrs. King was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Chicora.
Surviving are four children, Dr. A. Paul King and his wife, Mollie, and Jaren Drew King and his wife, Gail, all of Erie, Kevin Lane King and his wife, Kim, of Clarksville Tenn., and Lori Jane Metz and her husband, Terry, of Lincoln, Del.; her grandchildren, Jennifer King Kenny, Jessica King Washko, Justin King, Matthew, Nathan Metz and Trevor Metz, Taylor and Christina King and Jarrod Federoff; and great-grandchildren, Zoey Jules and Thomas Finn Kenny, Padget Grace and Casden James Washko and Jayden Victor Federoff.
She also is survived by a brother, John Shakley of East Butler, and a sister, Jean Grossman of Palm Desert, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Alvin Glen King; a son, Thomas Galen King; a granddaughter, Julie Glennan King; and siblings, June Connor, Bess Mortimer, Paul Shakley, Helen Kummer and Burnice Lewis.
<B>KING </B>— Friends of Esther Shakley King, who died Monday, April 9, 2007, will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Chicora, where funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. James Higgins officiating. Burial will be at the Mount Pleasant Lutheran Cemetery, Chicora R.D. 1.Memorial donations may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 2217 Chicora Road, Chicora., PA 16025, or to the charity of the donor's choice.Arrangements are being handled by the <B>Thomas M.
