Main Level Games opening drew crowds from Butler and beyond

Evan Miranda, owner of Main Level Games, 128 S. Main St., said he opened his store on Saturday, Nov. 18, and saw his mission come to life immediately, which was to create a space to meet the needs of a hard-core gamer, all the way to a family with kids who are just getting into video games

“We want collectors to add to their collection, and we want to create a safe space for kids in the Butler area,” Miranda said.

Main Level Games is located in the basement of the Branded In Butler building, and when he opened last week, he was blown away from the support he saw both locally and from far away.

“We estimate we had a little over 400 people stop by the store,” Miranda said of his Nov. 18 opening. “We had collectors come from Ohio, south of Pittsburgh and someone close to New York. Then we also had families come with kids as young as 3 years old.”

Miranda said he has TVs set up so kids can come in and try some family-friendly common titles, but for the collectors, he has some games that can be hard-to-find items within the industry.

“There’s a Nintendo Entertainment System game called Kid Klown that we have,” Miranda said. “I also have some complete in-box Pokémon games from the late ’90s.”

Miranda said he is open to buying and trading games from the public, as well.

“If anyone has any laying around, Main Level Games would definitely be interested,” Miranda said. “People can just bring the games directly into the store, and we can go from there.”

Main Level Games is opened from noon to 5 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and from noon to 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
