State police in Butler County charged 46 people with driving under the influence and responded to 48 crashes over Thanksgiving weekend, according to statistics released Monday, Nov. 27.

Statewide from Wednesday to Sunday, state police arrested 542 people for driving under the influence and issued more than 10,000 speeding citations. Officers of Troop D, Butler, were responsible for 46 of those arrests and 491 citations.

State police in Butler County also reported 48 crashes during that period, and nine of those crashes involved impaired driving. There were three injuries and no fatalities in the total reported crashes.
