Driver of dump truck injured in Brady Township crash Tuesday
A dump truck driver suffered a minor injury after a crash with a school bus on a slippery back road in Brady Township on Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 28, according to officials.
The female dump truck driver was transported by ambulance from the scene on West Liberty Road near the municipal building, according to Chief Mike Pflugh of Unionville Volunteer Fire Company.
Pflugh said in a Wednesday interview it was unclear exactly how the crash occurred around 4 p.m. Tuesday.
“The roads were all slick in spots up there,” he said. “It’s a back road, a very narrow road. It looks like they glanced on the front end, tapped head-on, and the dump truck went off the road.”
He said the three Slippery Rock Area School District students and bus driver were unharmed.
The dump truck driver was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital by Portersville-Muddy Creek EMS, Pflugh said.
“Due to the EMS crisis and lack of personnel, Butler Ambulance Service didn’t have a (vehicle) they could send; Slippery Rock EMS didn’t have a vehicle,” he said.
Crews remained on scene for about an hour, he added.
State police, Slippery Rock Township Volunteer Fire Company and Rescue Team and Portersville-Muddy Creek Township Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the scene.
