Rev. Paul Luebbe
The Rev. Paul Frank Luebbe, 79, of 344 Briar Lane, Chambersburg, died Sunday in Chambersburg.
Born Aug. 19, 1927, in Johnstown, he was a son of Frank and Louise Jena Luebbe.
He graduated from Gettysburg College, the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Gettysburg, and the Johns Hopkins University.
An ordained Lutheran pastor for 55 years, he served congregations in Latrobe, Zelienople, Chambersburg, Gallitzen and Summerhill in Pennsylvania and in Baltimore, Md.
In 1985, he created and directed the Medical Adult Day Care Center at Keswick Nursing Home, Baltimore, until he retired.
The Rev. Luebbe was a member of many church boards and agencies and also was a board member of the Lutheran Historical Society and a hospice volunteer.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara Schoenrock Luebbe; five children, Gretchen Luebbe of Leesburg, Va., Paul Luebbe Jr. of Chantilly, Va., Lisa Stapleford of Lemasters, Pa., Christopher Luebbe of Ann Arbor, Mich., and Jennifer Keller of Philadelphia, and seven grandchildren.
A sister, Margaret Butler of Baltimore, Md., and a brother, Robert Luebbe of Warminster, Pa., also survive.
