Paul J. Deere, 91, of Cranberry Township passed away Wednesday at home surrounded by his family.

Born May 9, 1925, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Paul L. and Cecilia Geneski Deere.

Paul was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He proudly served our country during World War II in the Navy. Shortly after the war, Paul attended art school. He was an amazing artist and painter.

Paul worked for Hunter Truck Parts and White Motors, where he was known as the “best parts man in the city of Pittsburgh.” After retirement, he worked for Giant Eagle in Cranberry Township. Paul loved to garden and fish, but above all, cherished the time he spent with his family.

He is survived by his children, Cecilia Deere Parry, Steven Deere, Cara (Steve) Hedzik, Christopher Deere and Rachel (Ben) Keller; his grandchildren, Dominic Parry, Amrita Parry, Steven Deere, Lindsey Ragsdale, Timothy Deere, Paul, Amber, Ashlyn and Aubrey Hedzik, Jacqueline Deere, Jonas, Gryffin, Porter, Adeline and Holden Keller; and his great-grandchildren, Brody, Lilly, Annie, Naryan and Xavier.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Lee Deere; his sons, Paul and Dennis Deere; his sisters, Betsy and Sissy; and his brother, Eddie.

DEERE — The family of Paul J. Deere, who died Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017, will welcome friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Boylan-Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home, 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township.A funeral ceremony will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Bishop Bernd Scanlan, officiating.He will be laid to rest with military honors at Pinewood Memorial Gardens.If desired, memorial donations may be made in Paul's honor to the Butler Veterans Services, P.O.
