Clair Kennedy

Clair R. Kennedy, 88, of Adams Township died Wednesday evening at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Township.

Born in Portersville, Aug. 29, 1920, he was the son of the late Alexander M. and Pearl H. Dunn Kennedy.

Mr. Kennedy was a 1938 graduate of Zelienople High School and graduated in 1943 from Grove City College as a certified public accountant.

He retired as vice president of finance for the F.B. Leopold Co. in Zelienople.

He was a member and elder of the Crestview Presbyterian Church in Callery since 1958 and also was a member of the Butler Country Club.

He was a staff sergeant in the 9th Air Force, 155th Night Photo Recon Division, during World War II. He belonged to the Zelienople American Legion and the Ellwood City VFW Post.

Surviving are his sister, Lois Jablon of Adams Township; 11 nieces and nephews, and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Beers Kennedy, who he married June 28, 1947, and who died May 22, 1991. Also preceding him in death were his brothers, Norman and Dean Kennedy.

<B>KENNEDY </B>— Friends of Clair R. Kennedy, who died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home</B>, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
