6:10 a.m. Thursday — John Michael Boley II, 41, of Butler was charged with simple assault after he allegedly hit his 38-year-old girlfriend after a night at the bar.The woman told police Boley was upset about something that occurred earlier in the night. He allegedly placed his hands around her neck and threw her up against the wall and onto the floor.The woman's daughter of unknown age called 911.Boley was arrested and placed in Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail.
6:48 p.m. Wednesday — Laura Halstead, 45, of Lyndora was charged with simple assault and harassment after she allegedly got into a fight with Debra Heath, 56, of Lyndora at a residence on Whitestown Road.Heath, who had a black eye in the altercation, was charged with harassment.2:31 p.m. Monday — Cars driven by Robert Hawk, 81, of Butler and Timothy Fend, 52, of Butler collided on Litman Road at the Greater Butler Mart.There were no injuries but both cars had heavy front end damage and were towed.
4:03 p.m. Friday — One person was injured in a two-car accident on School Street at Annisville Road in Bruin.A car driven by Ethel M. Scott, 85, of Parker and a Jeep driven by Paul W. Blauser, 58, of Chicora collided.Judith M. Scott, 55, of Parker, who was a passenger in Ethel Scott's vehicle, suffered injuries and was taken to Clarion Hospital.Gertrude A. McCall, 78, of Parker, who was also in the vehicle, was not injured, nor were the two drivers.Ethel Scott was cited for a traffic violation4:30 p.m. Feb. 14 — A 17-year-old Petrolia boy was arrested for allegedly stealing $300 worth of items from the home of Tiffany Jo Blake, 30, of Petrolia.
