Makenzie Smith of Butler and Vincent Simmon Jr. of Newport Beach, Calif., were united in marriage July 5 at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler. The Rev. Eugene Lauer officiated. A reception followed at the Succop Conservancy in Butler.
The bride is the daughter of Tim and Tammy Smith of Butler. Father of the bridegroom is Vincent Simmon of Newport Beach, Calif.
The honor attendant was Allene Francis of Cleveland. Bridesmaids included Samantha Bradley of Butler, Leslie Barnhart of Morgantown, W. Va., and Kristen Blanchard of Bruin. The flower girl was Riley Francis of Butler.
Performing the duties of best man was Eric Bernstein of Washington, D.C. Ushers included Eddie Szeto of New York, N.Y., Dan Walsh of Virginia Beach, Va., and Geoff Simmon of Newport Beach, Calif. The ring bearer was Cameron Francis of Butler.
The bride is a 2005 graduate of Butler High School and a 2010 graduate of Point Park University, where she received a bachelor's in biological sciences.
The bridegroom graduated in 2002 from the Marine Military Academy and in 2006 from Carnegie Mellon University with a bachelor's in social and decision sciences. He is a lieutenant in the United States Navy in Virginia Beach, Va.
The couple will reside in Naples, Italy.
