Sloan, Givans
Jessica Sloan of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., and Derek Givans of Freeport, Fla., were united in marriage Dec. 31 on the bay in Port Washington, Fla. Juliene Watson, notary public, officiated. A reception followed at the home of a friend in Santa Rosa Beach.
The bride is the daughter of Linda Vanderzee-Sloan of Santa Rosa Beach and the late Roger W. Sloan. Parents of the bridegroom are Nancy and Don Marden of Freeport, Fla., and the late Thomas C. Givans.
The honor attendant was Michelle Jordan of Navarre, Fla.
Performing the duties of best man was Brantley Galloway of Panama City Beach, Fla. The ring bearer was the couple's dog, Mylo.
The bride is a 2000 graduate of Freeport High School in Freeport, Fla.
The bridegroom graduated in 1992 from Currituck County High School in Barco, N.C. He is self-employed.
Following a honeymoon trip to Atlanta, the couple is making their home in Freeport, Fla.
