Despite managing only five singles all night, Butler scored once in the seventh and twice in the eighth to knot the game at seven. The BlueSox allowed a single and three walks in the ninth inning to lose the game.
Jack Herzing was the losing pitcher, though Zachary Patterson allowed the game-ending walk. BlueSox starting pitcher Pavin Parks worked five innings and struck out six.
Parks, one of five BlueSox players headed to the Prospect League All-Star Game Wednesday night in Kokomo, Ind., is 6-0 with a 2.76 earned run average.
Seneca Valley graduate Connor Coward (2-1, 2.86 ERA) and Alex Wagner (2-1, 2.20) are other Butler pitchers chosen for the All-Star Game. Coward has 45 strikeouts and only three walks in 37.2 innings pitched this season.
