Seven Fields mayor charged after alleged altercation
The mayor of Seven Fields and a Seven Fields woman were arrested Saturday at Northridge Drive after a physical altercation, according to a state police report.
Mayor Dean Galitsis, 44, and Tami Galitsis, 43, were charged with misdemeanor simple assault and summary harassment, according to charging documents. Tami Galitsis is also facing a charge of misdemeanor terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another.
Borough manager Tom Smith said “borough council is aware of the situation and believes it is a personal matter and does not involve borough operations.”
Both were arrested Saturday and transported to Butler County Prison. Their preliminary hearing is scheduled for 11 a.m. Jan. 5.
According to the report, state police responded to a domestic disturbance Saturday afternoon on Northridge Drive. The officer observed injuries on both Tami and Dean.
Dean told police an argument had escalated between the couple and Tami had threatened him with a knife. A physical altercation ensued, the report stated.
Tami told police Dean had become aggressive, and she was trying to defend herself, according to the report.
Tami and Dean were each reported as both victim and arrestee, with the nature of the incident recorded as simple harassment.
