Kimberly April (Ruth) Oberc, 63, of Butler, passed away on Friday, Dec. 29, 2023, after a long battle with lung disease. She was surrounded by her loved ones at the time she passed.

Kimberly was born on Jan. 12, 1960, to the late Calvin Ruth Sr. and Sherry (Keller-Ruth) McClaren in Pittsburgh. Kimberly was a 1978 graduate of Knoch High School and studied photography at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh.

Kimberly was passionate about caring for others and dedicated her life to her children, Autumn Ruth, James Ford and Austin Oberc. Kimberly loved all living things and took care of numerous German shepherds, birds and her favorite houseplants, Gus and Uncle Sockie. Kimberly was a member of Allison Park Church and worked as a direct care worker. She loved gardening, music and watching her children and grandchildren play sports and dance. She loved her family and enjoyed her time with her grandchildren more than anything.

Kimberly is survived by her children, Autumn Ruth, James (Kristen) Ford and Austin Oberc; and her grandchildren, Easton and Delilah Ford and Italia Debacco. She also is survived by her siblings, Calvin (Michelle) Ruth Jr., Raymond Ruth and Sherrie (Robert) Lane; many nieces, nephews and extended family; her best friend and caregiver, Jason Missler; and her German shepherd, Arya.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Deidre (Ruth) Elder and Sandra Ruth; and her brother, Scott Ruth.

OBERC — Family and friends of Kimberly April (Ruth) Oberc, who died Friday, Dec. 29, 2023, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler. A prayer service will immediately follow in the funeral home.
