New law office opens up in Cranberry Township
Jill Sinatra and Deanna Istik have set out on their own and formed their new law firm called Sinatra & Istik Law Office, located at 8050 Rowan Road, Suite 430 in Cranberry Township.
The duo’s focus will primarily be on civil litigation, such as divorce, custody and family law Istik said, but they are open and willing to take on other case types as well.
“We are most comfortable with the divorce, custody and any family law that involves adoption, termination of parenting rights,” Istik said.
From their previous law firm Istik said they have brought with them about 100 cases with about an additional 50 cases that involves helping coal miners receive their benefits from black lung.
“We have been very fortunate,” Istik said. “I credit a lot of attorneys from the Butler County Bar Association. They have been very helpful in giving us some guidance on how to start out on our own.”
The pair opened their law office officially on Dec. 26 Istik said, after leaving their former law office, previously known as Gilliland Vanasdale Sinatra Istik Law Office.
A majority of their cases are based in Butler County, but their work loads can reach cases as far as Lawrence, Allegheny, Fayette, Washington, Clarion, Cumberland and Venango counties.
“We will travel and our cases might take us there and we are happy to do it,” Istik said.
Istik attended the University of Pittsburgh for her undergrad degree, then went to West Virginia University for her masters and the University of Michigan for her law degree.
Sinatra did her undergrad at Westminster College and went to law school at Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Va.
