Frank W. Terwint
Frank W. Terwint, 72, of Sligo died at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday at the UPMC Seneca following a courageous battle with cancer for the past six years.
Born July 25, 1933, in Karns City, he was the son of Frank and Evelyn Stoughton Terwint.
Mr. Terwint was employed by the former Glass Containers Corp. in Parker for more than 30 years. He retired in 1980 as a machine operator.
He was a veteran with the Army from 1952 to 1954. His primary duty station was Ft. Carson, Colo., where he served with the Dog C Unit of the Eight Army. He was a member of the American Legion Post 598 of Parker.
Mr. Terwint was a member and past worshipful master of the Canby Lodge 520 Free and Accepted Masons of St. Petersburg, the Royal Arch Chapter of Oil City and the New Castle Consistory.
He was a Protestant and attended the Park Hill Church of God at West Freedom.
He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed hunting and four-wheeler riding and looked forward always to spending time with his children and his new great-grandbabies.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Barger Terwint, whom he married Aug. 29, 1952, at the former Parker Church of God; a daughter, Pamela Myers of West Freedom; a son, Terry Terwint of West Freedom; five grandchildren; three grandbabies; three step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Johana Everetts of Butler and Mary Wolfe of Mary Ester, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.
<B>TERWINT</B> — Friends of Frank W. Terwint, who died Tuesday, July 18, 2006, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home,</B> Wayne St., Parker.There will also be visitation from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday in the Park Hill Church of God, Lime Plant Road, West Freedom.Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the church with the Rev. Lonny Wolford and the Rev. Korona Say, church pastors, and the Rev. Dan Myers, United Methodist minister, all officiating.Burial will follow at the Cedarview Memorial Park in Strattenville, Clarion Co.Members of the Canby Lodge 520 Free and Accepted Masons of St. Petersburg will conduct a memorial service at 7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.The American Legion and VFW Posts of Parker will conduct a full military service Friday morning following the funeral at the Park Hill Church of God.Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Visiting Nurses Association of Clarion County at Knox.
