Robert C. Kay

Robert C. Kay, 76, formerly of American Avenue, died Monday at Sunnyview Home after complications of Alzheimer's disease.

Born in Harrisville, Oct. 17, 1928, he was the son of Calvin L. and Nellie Minehart Kay.

He was a retired Butler businessman and owned and operated the family business, Kay's Ambulance Service. He also owned and operated the Sedan Service and the Butler Burial Vault.

Mr. Kay was an Army veteran of the Korean War and was stationed at Fort Bragg, N.C. He attended the yearly reunions of his outfit until his failing health in 1996.

Surviving are a sister, Mrs. George (Shirley) Rock of Butler, and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three sisters; a brother; and his fiancée, Viola Hattjar, who died Jan. 15, 2005.

KAY - Friends of Robert C. Kay, who died Monday, Aug. 8, 2005, will be will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 429 Center Ave. A blessing service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with his nephew, the Rev. Larry Rock, pastor of St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church of Bradshaw, Md., officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.
