Kay L. “Katie” McLafferty
Kay L. “Katie” McLafferty, 69, of Herman, while surrounded by her loving family and friends, peacefully passed away following a courageous battle with cancer Sunday at Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia.
Born Nov. 3, 1946, in New Kensington, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Ivan “Sparky” Fleck and Betty Brubach Fleck Dixon.
Katie was a homemaker and a member of Saint Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman.
She was a volunteer at Saint Mary Church, and she also belonged to the Herman Volunteer Fire Company and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Stephen J. McLafferty; one daughter, Kelly McLafferty and Justin Foutz of Butler; two sons, Rob McLafferty and his wife, Karen, of Butler and Stephen McLafferty and his wife, Sara, of Butler; four adored grandchildren, Tadhg and Finn Burk and Kylee and Derek McLafferty; three sisters, Hope Schiebel and her husband, Dale, of Butler, Joy Love of Baton Rouge, La., and Melody Bucci and her husband, Mike, of Pittsburgh; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Katie was preceded in death by her special aunt and uncle, Grace and Al Taylor.
MCLAFFERTY — Friends of Kay L. “Katie” McLafferty, who died Sunday, Jan. 24, 2016, will be received from 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler.A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Thursday at Saint Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Herman.The McLafferty family requests memorial donations be made to the Herman Volunteer Fire Company, P.O.
