Rev. James Hurd

The Rev. James E. Hurd, 69, of Center Township died at 10:43 a.m. Wednesday at the Kindred Hospital at Heritage Valley, Beaver.

Born in Cleveland April 11, 1937, he was the son of Frank O. and Dorothea Dunlap Hurd.

In earlier years, he was a director at the Youth Development Center in Warrendale. He also had worked at the Renewed Life Christian Counseling Services in Butler, was on the pastoral staff at Northway Christian Community Church in Wexford and pastored in Penfield, N.Y., and at Countryside/Living Waters Church.

The Rev. Hurd then returned to the Renewed Life Christian Counseling Services, where he was the director.

Surviving are his wife, Lynne S. Stillson Hurd; a son and his wife, Alan F. and Laurie Hurd of Stanley, Idaho; a daughter and her husband, Angela and Michael Beall of Glen Burnie, Md.; and five grandchildren, Adrienne and Benjamin Hurd and Andrew, Daniel and Noah Beall. He also is survived by a sister, Pamela Hurd of Cleveland; two nieces, and two nephews.

<B>HURD</B> — Friends of the Rev. James E. Hurd, who died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2006, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Jenks, pastor of the Faith Fellowship Alliance Church, officiating. Burial will be at the Poland Cemetery, Poland, Ohio.Information also is available at www.thompson-miller.com.
