Peter Antoszyk, 95, of Saxonburg passed away Thursday at Concordia Lutheran Ministries.

Born July 9, 1917, in McKees Rocks, he was the son of the late Matthew “Martin” and Kateryna “Catherine” (Kucczyk) Antoszyk.

Pete was a master sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II, serving July 23, 1941, until Oct. 8, 1945. He worked for Crane, Inc., U.S. Steel and American Bridge and was also a steward of the Saxonburg Fire Hall.

Pete was a lifelong farmer in the Saxonburg area. He was a member of the Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church, a charter member of the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the Saxonburg American Legion Post 683 and a 32nd degree mason. Pete enjoyed farming, travelling, gardening, gambling, sports and spending time with his family and his grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife, Janet (Keasey) Antoszyk, who he married July 7, 1984; his daughters, Kathy (Boots) Hixon of Butler, Debbie (Jon) Drenocky of York, Pa., and Sherrie (Randy) Thomas of Cabot; his grandchildren, Pete and Penny Hixon, Tom and Julie Hixon, Mandy and Mark Slupe, Kristy and Bob Sensenig, Jamie Drenocky, Leigh and Anthony Harbison and Abby and Nate Percy; his great-grandchildren, Grayson, Garrett, Lily, Marissa, Logan, Kyle, Danika, Cooper, Molly and Ellie; his brother, Walter Antoszyk of Butler; his sister, Rose Sheetz of Groton, Conn.; his stepson, Roger Bachman of Butler; his stepgranddaugher, Aysa Bachman; and a number of nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn Smith Antoszyk, who passed away in June 1980; four brothers; and four sisters.

ANTOSZYK — Friends of Peter Antoszyk, who passed away Thursday, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Fox Funeral Home, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. David Brewer officiating.Interment with military honors will follow in Saxonburg Memorial Church Cemetery.Information also is available at www.foxfuneralhomeinc.com.
